Brazilian Araucaria

(Araucaria angustifolia), known in P ortuguese as pinheiro-to-Paraná - coniferous tree species of the genus arakuria belonging to the family Araucariaceae. Occurs in southern Brazil (south of Minas Gerais, south of Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo, Paraná, Santa Catarina and Rio Grande do Sul), in Paraguay (Alto Paraná) and the north-eastern Argentina (Misiones and Corrientes), grows in niewysokich mountain chains, whose height ranges from 500 - 1800 meters. Evergreen tree, reaching up to 40 meters in height with trunk diameters of up to 1 meter. Leaves thin, triangular, 3-6 cm long, 5-10 mm wide at the base of kującymi ends.
